FUNG lays out a plan to capture SZEMA YEE in Boding. SHING will personally oversee the operation but FUNG knows that SHING is driven by the fear that he will leave him once the task has been accomplished. SHUN is exiled to the frontier. All the way, he is pursued by a black-garbed assassin. An ominous feeling crosses SZEMA YEE’s mind when he listens to a tune played by LEUNG on her zither. Disciples of the Green City Sect have come settling scores with him. SZEMA YEE urges LEUNG to leave by night and catches up with her midway through. He seizes the chance to bring her to see fireflies. LEUNG again plays him a tune. FUNG follows the music and tracks down SZEMA YEE. Only then he realizes that the woman has betrayed him. He receives multiple gunshots and plunges down a cliff. FUNG and his men are summoned to the capital.
